Mia Yim Leaves Twitter After Backlash Over Austin Theory Photo
While being a WWE Superstar is an unattainable dream for most fans, life as a professional wrestler certainly comes with its pitfalls. One of those pitfalls is some of the aforementioned fans being able to easily broadcast how they feel about you, in some cases directly to you, on social media. Something Mia Yim has experienced this week following the publication of a seemingly innocuous photo.
Mia Yim Leaves Twitter
The photo, which was included in an official WWE album of photoshoot outtakes, shows Yim posing with Austin Theory. Yim has her legs wrapped around the US Champion as he holds her up along with a couple of pots of yogurt. While certainly not sexual or implying anything close to that, hence WWE including it in one of its albums, certain fans appear to have been offended by the image.
As certain wrestling fans tend to do, many decided to voice their concern directly to Yim on social media. So many, in fact, that shortly after Yim felt compelled to respond and defend herself, multiple times, the Raw Superstar eventually decided to throw in the towel and at the time of typing this, her Twitter account has either been deactivated or deleted entirely.
Fans Concerned For Keith Lee
The concern among fans who decided to complain to Yim about the photo appears to be regarding Keith Lee. In case you didn't know, Yim is married to the AEW star, and apparently, posing for a photo with Theory in the way Yim did is disrespectful of The Limitless One. Despite Yim assuring fans she only has eyes for Lee, not that it's any of their business anyway, the pile-on seemingly continued.
This isn't the first time Yim and Lee have had to deal with an influx of unpleasant messages from fans. While the two of them were absent from WWE, and then after their release, Lee was accused of a number of things. The former NXT Champion seriously struggled with COVID during his prolonged absence. Many fans continually questioned why he was away, and more recently accused him of being released for refusing to get in shape, and Yim has come to his defense on various occasions.
