Josh Allen Sets The Record Straight About Patrick Mahomes' On-The-Field Behavior
After the chaotic Chiefs vs. Bills playoff game, winning Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes ran across the football field to give Buffalo's Josh Allen a post-game hug, according to Sports Illustrated. Allen told reporters after the game how much he appreciated Mahomes' effort. "It was tough to be in that moment," said Allen. "Again, I have a lot of respect for Pat. He throws the winning touchdown, and he comes straight over and finds me. To be in that situation and to do that, that was pretty cool of him to do that."
26-year-old Mahomes is the youngest quarterback in NFL history to win two Super Bowls, per CBS Sports. Some have compared the young Chiefs QB to G.O.A.T. quarterback Tom Brady, and it turns out Brady thinks highly of Mahomes. In fact, the KC star might have learned a lesson from Brady off the field. When the Patriots beat Kansas City in the 2018 AFC Championship, Brady went to talk to Mahomes in the Chief's locker room after the game. Chiefs coach Andy Reid told USA Today, "[Brady] is arguably the best quarterback to ever play the game ... I think was a tremendous gesture and it was heartfelt."
It was nice to see Mahomes and Allen's good sportsmanship. We can't wait to see what's next from the star quarterbacks!
