Dinh Bowman is a former robotics engineer. He was born in the United States in East Bakersfield on 9th December 1982. Also, you will be shocked to know he is a convicted murderer involved in the murder of a wine steward, Yancy Noll. It was a random act of violence that happened in Seatle in 2012.

He claimed that he did it in self-defence, but the evidence told another story, and it was declared that he was a murderer.

About Dinh Bowman’s Parents

Thomas Bowman and Thuy Nguyen are the names of his parents. His father, a former Boeing engineer, and his mother, a Vietnamese refugee who arrived in Saigon in 1975, bring together Chinese and Vietnamese heritage. Bowman, as the only child, does not have any siblings.

Early Life

Dinh Bowman was considered a child prodigy. At the age of 12, he got college admission. After completing his education there, he decided to join the University of Washington. He completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering there, and you will be shocked to know that he was just 18 when he finished his education. 

His Achievements

After completing his education, he started Vague Industries, a robotics engineering firm. The reason behind the establishment of the company is to investigate the application of robots in the real world. He also worked on various projects that included big names like NASA, Boeing and Microsoft.  

Dinh Bowman’s Marriage to Jennifer 

He and his wife, Jennifer, met in 2007 during a conference. After a while, they both got married. They both got married in 2009 and settled in the United States.

Their friends described them as a happy couple who also love travelling. However, Bowman was a child prodigy and had his own company, but as a dentist earning a great amount of money from her profession, he was the primary breadwinner of the house. 

They were having a happy life, but things got ugly due to Yancy Noll’s murder, as Bowman was suspected to be the murderer. Being the wife of Dinh Bowman, she was the first one to be questioned about the murder.

She was unaware of why her husband did all this, so her responses did not satisfy the judges. Her responses were mainly “I am not sure.” this did not put a great impression on her husband. 

Sadly, when Dinh Bowman was found guilty, her wife decided to break the relationship with him and decided to go for a divorce. She also changed her name to avoid any kind of media attention in future.

She faced much criticism for her actions as she left her husband in this difficult time and did not respond well. 

Dinh Bowman Interests

Looking into his interests, he had such different kinds of interests that if you know, you will immediately conclude that he can do something like this and that he is the murderer of Yancy Noll.

He possessed an extensive assortment of rifles, guns, grenades, and machine guns, and he was even proficient in designing various types of explosives. It seemed as if he had a peculiar attraction to violence and death. He delved into numerous books on methods of survival and the act of taking someone’s life.

Furthermore, He and his wife both had a lavish lifestyle but not much furniture, but they owned many guns and ammunition. Because he read many books on murder and was hiding his crimes, it was suspected that his wife was also involved with him and knew about this all. 

The Story: Murder of Yancy Noll

Yancy was heading home from work when he stopped at a signal as a red light. A silver BMW car stood next to him and opened gunfire. Five shots were heard on the street of 15th Avenue Northeast. Four of the gunshot went directly into Noll’s head which took his life on the spot. 

Two people in a car witnessed every bit of it and tried to follow it, but they failed to catch the car and the person as the car ran away at a very high speed.

They came back and saw that the man was already dead. His friends mentioned that Noll was an amiable person and such a happy nature. He had a simple job and a life and had no enemies or fights in the past till the time of his death. 

This murder shook the community and was considered a brutal act and senseless act of violence by the people. Police launched an investigation team in the search for the murderer, even though they decided to reward the person who would help them find them. 

The Time of Dinh Bowman’s Arrest

After two weeks after this horrible incident, an anonymous person contacted the police and identified the person behind this murder, and he was non-other than Dinh Bowman. He lives just ten blocks from the crime scene, and the person identified that he owns a BMW car. 

Police started to search for his home, and they successfully reached there and saw the silver BMW outside his house. They saw that the car had been remodelled, the window replaced, and the tires too.

They also found a broken glass that matched the car window.

Bowman was acquired from his home, and police started searching inside his home. They discovered a bookcase, and beside him was a hidden room where they found explosive guns, fake Ids, ammunition, machine guns, etc.

They found a map of Seattle with red marks that might indicate the shooting spots he was planning. Police also discovered that he searched for Noll online before committing the crime. 

He was charged with the murder case, and in his defence, he said that he was trying to save himself as Noll was cutting him in between the road, and also threw a bottle at him, and showed such actions which looked like he was about to shoot him and this is why he did all of this to save himself from him. 

According to the people close to Noll, he never saw him using any gun or even remembered having a gun. By nature, he is calm and sweet and has no anger issues or fights with anyone. 

Pieces of evidence Say it All.

As mentioned above, his wife also was one of the people who was investigated by the police, and her answers were not good enough to prove and support Dinh Bowman. But a letter found in their house during the search showed that his wife was calling him the best shooter in the world.

They suspected that his wife knew everything and was involved in this all.

She was there when he was replacing the car window. Also, she helped him to buy new tires for his car. She didn’t make any eye contact during the investigation. But she was not charged with anything. All the evidence was again Dinh, proving that he murdered Yancy Noll. 

Where is Dinh Bowmen Now?

On November 2014, he was presented in court for the murder case of Yancy Noll. Prosecutors said he searched about Yancy online and was also taking driving lessons and practising shooting. 

It was proved that Dinh had anger issues and showed signs of it in the past. After three day trial, the jury reached a decision and held Dinh responsible for the murder of Yancy Noll.

They decided to send him to jail for 29 years. He was disappointed by the decision and tried to take his life but survived. He is now serving his sentence at the Clallam Bay Corrections.
