Former Universal Champion reportedly set to be Roman Reigns next opponent in WWE

Roman Reigns solidified his status at the mountain top this past Saturday in Cardiff when he defeated Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. It wasn’t only the hardworking antics of The Tribal Chief which drove him towards his goal as an unexpected member of the Anoa’i family joined the fray.

The Usos’ younger brother and NXT superstar Solo Sikoa made his main-roster debut at the glorified event pulling out referee’s leg at the penultimate pinfall count which was about to hand McIntyre the momentous victory. Reigns then speared the Scottish Warrior to claim the win.

After the match, the Gypsy King Tyson Fury also came inside the ring and shook hands with the Head of the Table nodding his head in approval. Fury and McIntyre then sang along for the local crowd sending them home on a happy note. Although their hero lost the main-event, it was an extremely memorable night for the people of Cardiff.

Kevin Owens will be the next possible challenger for Roman Reigns

Well, it seems like an old rival is waiting in the wings for Roman Reigns and his name is none other than Kevin Owens. As been made clear on some recent editions of WWE Raw, Owens is still gunning for those titles currently being held by The Tribal Chief. After last night’s Raw went off-air, the Prizefighter cut a more defiant and valiant promo regarding the same on Raw Talk.

“My goal is the same as I stated a few weeks ago: I want to be a champion in WWE again. There are a lot of titles I’m gunning for. I’m gunning for all of them. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re usually not on Raw, your SmackDown gal? Okay, are you going to be at SmackDown this week? If you see Roman Reigns, can you do me a favor? Can you remind him that he owes me? You got it? I appreciate that.”

Both Reigns and Owens had quite a rivalry during WWE’s Thunderdome Era and their matches were off the charts in absence of a life audience and that’s the only missing flavour in their shenanigans. The two men met each other twice over the Universal Championship where they once fought at Tables, Ladders and Chairs event in December 2020 and then at Royal Rumble in 2021, but Owens lost both of them.
