Brock Lesnar Set Two WWE Records With 2022 Royal Rumble Victory
Brock Lesnar had an interesting night at Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble premium live event. The Beast lost the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley. In turn, he also lost the services of his advocate, Paul Heyman. An infuriated Brock eventually entered and won the men’s Royal Rumble match and secured his ticket to a title match at WrestleMania.
Lesnar entered the match at #30 and had five eliminations. It only took two and a half minutes for Brock to clean house and start the road to WrestleMania. Along the way, he set a couple WWE records.
Dave Meltzer reported on the achievements in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Brock set two very interesting Royal Rumble records in his brief effort. It was the least amount of time ever in the ring for a Rumble winner. Brock also set the new high mark for years in between Royal Rumble victories.
“*Least amount of time in the ring of a Royal Rumble winner – Lesnar 2:32
*Most years in between winning – Lesnar 19 (2003 to 2022)”
Brock Lesnar also moved into a tie for 9th place with 29 career eliminations. Kane holds that record with 46. Brock still has a long way to go, but one big Rumble could put him in the conversation.
Brock Lesnar’s Royal Rumble performance was a microcosm of his character. Brock didn’t take long to get the job done in the match. The dominant, record-holding Lesnar will now start making his preparations for WrestleMania.
